“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Every kid’s favorite question! Their answers are endless—and ambitious. Fireman, doctor, pilot, rockstar…. No sky or limit.
CareerBuilder tapped into this enthusiasm during the 2016 CareerBuilder Challenge PGA Tour (January 18-24, Coachella Valley, CA) by talking with students of all ages about their dream careers. Many of the youngsters were confident in their goals. “Robotics engineering,” said one, saying he already knew he enjoyed robotics.
But what they didn’t have was much information about how to make these dreams a reality. So CareerBuilder introduced Find Your Calling, encouraging the kids to take the quick, six-question assessment that will size up their interests and produces an abundance of career and education pathways that suit what they enjoy.
“When you’re ready to start looking, whatever you want to do,” the young attendees were told by Jason Lovelace, president of enterprise sales at CareerBuilder, “this site will help you determine if that’s what you’re interested in, where you can go to school, where you can find a job, and most importantly—I know this is one you’re all going to care about—…how much money you make.”
The interactive session, which included a fun how-to video and a tour of the Find Your Calling website, solidified what every kid instinctively knows: You’re never too young to dream big. But more than that, if you’re never too young to dream big, you’re never too young to start putting together a smart plan for achieving those dreams.
